In the last few weeks something has changed mentally within
me. Finally. The desire to get fit and not let myself carry on the way I have for the last few years. It’s fair to say that life has been challenging.
When I was a teenager I ran two half marathons. People that know me now will be laughing at that last sentence and occasionally over the last few years I have walked the odd 5k for charity. I never imagined I could get enthusiastic about the prospect of trying to run properly but here I am five weeks in feeling just that way.
Zaggora offered me a pair of their High Rise Capri Hot Pants (rrp £70) to review and the offer arrived at the perfect time. I had just downloaded the NHS’s Couch 2 5k running programme after a friend had enthused about it. I have a good pair or running trainers that I bought four years or so ago and um never actually used. So they still look brand spanking new. Pregnancy, motherhood and too much medical stuff clearly has got in the way. Anyway lets get back to the hot pants!
Zaggora say their “products represent the next generation of fitness wear and are embedded with unique patent-pending Celu-Lite technology, which has been proved to help increase core temperature and promote greater calorie burn during exercise”.
They have also been tested by ETScience based at the University of Southern California and Brighton University here and results showed that they increase the metabolic rate by up to 18% when worn for at least 30 minutes during exercise.
Please note: These are not my legs but how I wish they were. Though mine could never actually be this long being only 5ft 2,they will eventually become this svelte.
I must admit I am not up to date on the latest fitness gear, or um any fitness gear for that matter. I can tell you these hotpants are made of sort of wet suit type material and are really comfortable to wear. Within minutes they kind of suction into your skin and you really do sweat. Alot. They literally peel off my legs at the end of my sessions and I have to say they really are very lovely to wear. It might not sound like it but they really are!
Zaggora have a ‘Housework in Hotpants’ chart (see below) which is quite fun. I have to say I have not worn mine when doing the housework. I have limited them to my C25k sessions which I am really enjoying. I am about to start week 4 for the second time due to a back injury last week putting me out of action and now a cold in it’s final stages courtesy of J starting nursery and all the buggy joys that brings with it.
I have, in the last month dropped one dress size and still have more to go. I am starting to look at half marathons for next year thinking I would like to get back to doing that to actually maintain some decent level of fitness for life rather than quick fixes that don’t last. I have also been following a well known eating plan too. And not snaffling cake and chocolate. I find this helps. I mean really, if we cannot be honest with ourselves then we are frankly doomed.
I am really delighted that Zaggora asked me to review their Hot Pants . I think they are fabulous. And they are nice and toasty for the colder months ahead which is a bonus! There is a whole range of clothing on offer with different colours and lengths of hotpants, along with a variety of tops which you can find over here.
My only problem is that as I am shrinking, I am going to need a smaller pair! It is fair to say that I am a huge fan!
