If you have learnt anything about me by now one of the key things you will know is what a serious bagoholic I am. Bags are my major weakness and have been for years. London based Knomo have very kindly sent me this Aurora bag to try out and review.
This is a different kind of bag to the norm. It is on first look essentially a laptop bag with some very clever twists. There are some very nice touches and it expands within seconds into a box tote by unzipping from one side to the other, making it an ideal for use when travelling.
The Aurora will hold up to a 13″ laptop in a purpose made quilted pouch which has shockproof protection. The above photograph shows the sides and base zipped. Used like this you could fit your laptop and paperwork in I would say, so it would be ideal to use if going out for a meeting or for use as a student. The beauty of this bag is you can unzip it (as below) and chuck in all manner of things, like I did! It’s so versatile!
Enclosed is my ipad, kindle, changing bag, wipes, full change of clothes for the little man, bottle of water, purse and phone. This is standard fair for me going out on a daily basis with the little man. You have a choice of carry handles and an across body strap which is very strong and comfortable on the shoulder.
The exterior of the bag is made of scotch-guarded durable nylon and there are several colours to choose from (a gorgeous Teal and Hot Pink are just two). Here we have Ultraviolet which is a beeeautiful deep purple. The fabric of the bag is actually very soft and good quality. Do you ever find yourself stroking a new loved bag? Yes? No? Well I do. I don’t think that makes me weird? I have already admitted to my bagoholic tendencies. Surely it’s natural…
Anyway, The interior is made of cotton. Inside, you have a unique ID number for your bag so that you can register it online with Knomo incase it gets lost. There is also a zipped pocket internally as shown in the below photograph. Behind that is a further pocket so there is plenty of room for extras such as notepads or paperwork.
There is a lovely hidden pocket at the top of the bag which you could slip your phone into quite easily and it is hidden. I had to pull it up a bit for the purpose of the photo below. Of course you could put your travel card / ticket in this little pocket and access is very easy because you know it’s there. To anyone else though, it can’t be seen. Love this hidden gem! I also love the finish of the rivets on the handles too. Attention to detail is so important when it comes to bag. And it is this attention to detail that I really scrutinise.
There is also Knomo’s signature front zipped pocket which can also be used as the hidden pocket is. The zipped section would be handy for loose change / keys.
All in all I love the Aurora. It’s very stylish and lightweight. Knomo have their January sale on so this bag is currently available for £60 here. You can also like them over on Facebook and follow on Twitter @knomo. They do a wide range of different bags for women and men (a great range of man bags!) and also some really lovely ipad/tablet/kindle and iphone cases too.
I do so love spreading the bag love…..
Disclosure: I was sent this bag to review. All opinions are honest and are my own.
